Gluten-Free Dining: BJ's Roasted Portobello and Asparagus Salad


We're always looking for new options when it comes to Gluten-Free Dining - and this one is FABULOUS! You must try the NEW roasted portobello & asparagus salad at BJ's Restaurant.      Just make sure to tell your server you are Gluten-Free!


This baby comes with a plate full of fresh greens, topped with savory portobello mushrooms (an excellent source of Vitamin D), goat cheese (mmmmmm!!), dried cranberries, toasted pepitas, and fresh asparagus. Asparagus has become my new veggie of choice, due to the fact that it is high in many important B-Vitamins Celiacs have trouble absorbing (folate, thiamine, niacin, B-6, and pantothenic acid). It is also rich in Vitamin K (which helps protect the brain against neurological damage), and is a good source of iron and copper (for red blood cell formation). 

This salad makes a great starter for any of BJs Gluten-Free pizzas, or perfect for a late night snack. Best of all, it is under $5, AND under 300 calories! (What?!) Yes. You're welcome. :)
